A Quilting Potpourri!

1. Keep an extra coffee mug next to the place where you do hand sewing.
It makes a perfect "mini" garbage can for snips of thread, fabric and even
pencil shavings. This is a perfect use for those cute quilt mugs we buy
at shows or our favorite quilt workshops.

2. Keep templates together for the block you're working on by threading them onto a
large safety pin.
3. When pressing a finished block, use a grided pressing surface (like the
June Tailor Cut 'n Press) to square it up, pushing or pulling it into shape.
DO NOT PICK IT UP UNTIL IT'S COMPLETELY COOL AND DRY. The block will retain
its flat and square shape. If you move it while it's warm it will wobble
and wave.
